LED lighting upgrades

LED Lighting Upgrades

Energy-saving LED lighting for offices, warehouses and industrial units across Leicester and the East Midlands: lower running costs, less maintenance and better light, with emergency lighting and controls upgraded at the same time.

Energy saving

Lower running costs, better light

If your building still has fluorescent tubes, sodium or metal-halide high-bays, LED can reduce running costs and maintenance and improve the light. We upgrade the lighting in offices, warehouses and industrial units across Leicester and the East Midlands, upgrading emergency lighting and controls at the same time.

Why LED

Why upgrade to LED?

Savings depend on the building, so we don't quote a figure without a survey. In general:

  • Lower running costs. LED fittings generally use less energy than the older fluorescent and discharge lamps they replace.
  • Less maintenance. Fewer failed tubes and lamps to replace, which matters most when the lights are high up.
  • Better light. Brighter, more even light that switches on instantly, with no flicker or warm-up.
  • A good time to fix other things. A lighting upgrade is the ideal moment to sort emergency lighting, controls and any wiring that's past its best.

Offices and studios

Offices and commercial spaces

Even, comfortable light for staff and visitors. We replace old grid fittings and downlights with LED panels and fittings that suit the space. That covers open-plan offices, meeting rooms, corridors, toilets and reception areas, as well as gyms and studios. For example, we recently upgraded the old fluorescent lighting in a Leicester gym to LED.

Where it helps, we add simple controls like presence detection or daylight dimming, so lights aren't on in empty rooms.

Industrial

Warehouses, factories and industrial units

Upgrading high-bay lighting needs planning around access and the way your site runs. We install LED high bays and battens, keep disruption down, and can work in stages or outside normal hours by arrangement.

For a point-of-sale display supplier's warehouse in Kibworth, we installed round LED high bays and emergency lighting.

Emergency lighting

Emergency lighting and controls

Emergency lighting often gets forgotten until a test fails. When we upgrade your lighting, we check your emergency lighting and upgrade it where needed, so your escape routes are covered and your records are in order. See testing and compliance for ongoing testing.

Disposal

Disposal of old lamps and fittings

Old fluorescent tubes and discharge lamps need to be disposed of correctly. We're a registered waste carrier, and we take away old lamps, fittings and electronic waste and dispose of them under the WEEE regulations. You get waste transfer notes for your records.

Outside

External and car park lighting

Floodlights, wall packs and car park lighting can be upgraded to LED too, with timers or photocells so they're only on when they're needed.

FAQs

Common questions

How much will we save?

It depends on your existing lighting, how many hours it runs and your energy prices. We'll survey the building before giving any estimate.

Can you just swap the tubes?

Sometimes, but it isn't always the best or safest option. We'll advise whether retrofitting or replacing the fitting makes more sense.

Can you upgrade the lighting while we're open?

Usually, yes. We plan the work area by area, and can arrange some work outside normal hours.

Thinking about an LED upgrade?

Send us the details of the building and its current lighting, and we'll arrange a survey.
