Compliance
Clear reports with a full list of any remedial work required
As a business owner, landlord or building owner, you're responsible for keeping the electrical installation safe and your records in order. We carry out commercial EICRs, emergency lighting installation and testing, and fire alarm installations across Leicester and the East Midlands.
EICRs
Commercial EICRs
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) checks the condition of your fixed wiring and tells you whether it's safe to keep using. Insurers, landlords, tenants and letting agents often ask for one. We inspect and test the installation and give you a clear report. When we've finished, we'll talk you through what we've found.
The report will either confirm the installation is satisfactory, with the certificate and documents you need, or set out the remedial work required to bring it up to a satisfactory condition, keeping your premises safe for your staff and customers.
Codes
What the codes mean
Any issues on an EICR are given a code:
- C1: danger present. Needs putting right straight away. We'll make it safe before we leave.
- C2: potentially dangerous. Needs putting right as soon as possible.
- C3: improvement recommended. Not unsafe, but worth considering.
- FI: further investigation needed.
Any remedial work is quoted separately, so you can decide.

Emergency lighting
Emergency lighting installation and testing
Emergency lighting needs regular checks to make sure it'll work if the power fails. Typically that's a quick monthly function test and a full-duration test once a year.
We carry out the testing, fix or replace failed fittings, and give you the certificates and records to show it's been done. We also install emergency lighting, whether following a fire risk assessment or as part of a new installation or fit-out.

Fire alarms
Fire alarms
A fire alarm system that's designed, installed and commissioned by the right people. We install fire alarm systems in commercial buildings. The design and commissioning are carried out by a specialist fire alarm partner we work with. They can also provide fire risk assessments if you need one.
That means you get a neat installation from us, with the design and sign-off handled by specialists. See fire alarm installation and servicing for more.
Remedials
Remedial work
If your EICR or emergency lighting test throws up issues, we can put them right and update your paperwork. There's no obligation to use us for remedial work.

FAQs
Common questions
How often do we need an EICR?
It depends on the type of premises and how they're used. Your last report should state when the next inspection is due. If you don't have one, we can advise.
Will the power need to go off?
Some testing needs circuits switching off for short periods. We agree this with you beforehand and work around your business.
Do you design fire alarm systems?
No. The design and commissioning are done by our specialist fire alarm partner. We install the system and carry out the associated electrical work.
Need testing or a fire alarm?
Send us the details of the building and when your next inspection is due, and we'll arrange a date.
